Hey guys NYFW is happening...

...maybe I should blog about it. Ok here goes. Steven Alan was one that I quite liked so far. No it wasn't any fake prom, prep/geek chic, varsity be done with yourself already wet dream or anything (that was still totally cute and cool btw, despite my tone and choice of words). But it was something...

I like the idea of a leopard print shift dress. But this is something that should really be filed under my new 'things that will never work out in real life' series. But I liked more looks, so Steven Alan gets his own post.

Lets all say velvet and rejoice! Velvet maxi dress! Velvet skirt-suit! OMG! I NEED a velvet skirt-suit for work!!!

If being Morman was really as cool as being Nicki Grant, I'd do it in a heart beat.

Brrr it's cold in here

Is it really? I wouldn't know. I have a new velvet jacket to keep me warm! I LOVE velvet. Thanks to Bif the friend friend for helping me further my quest to make my life more velvet friendly. Just in time for winter, which I felt really arrived with a big, fat, cold, pow today. I joked about buying velvet pants too and wearing a full velvet outfit...but really this isn't a joke at all and I have my keen little eyes on a pair of velvet shorts on trusty little TradeMe. Morhaha Twin Peaks here I come.

p.s. you can't really see in the photos but there are awesome ruffles going down the shoulders and the back. Cool. Cool. Cool!

p.p.s. sorry, but are those knited nappies...? Lolz I am so funny!

Crushed Velvet?

Alexander Wang's fall 2010 show happened in New York a few days ago. Yes I am aware I am sooo behind on this, but I have a life (and at times a very slow internet connection). But anyway, to get to the point - dare I say, I didn't really like it. The only things that I wasn't so confused about were a few dresses towards the end. What's going on here? Pinstripes and crushed velvet? Really? I like velvet, but not the crushed variety. And I never like pinstripes. N.E.V.E.R. Sigh Alexander, sigh. These dresses are wonderful. The non-so-wonderful pinstripe and crushed velvet can be researched on your own time. They don't belong here.
