How many horsey jumpers does a girl need?
Does she need two? Because she already has one. But she really wants this one too. Her one is white. This one is grey marle. Hmmm...

looking forward to the cold
or at least the cool. I'm so sick of this heat. I would like to be able to wear at least two layers of clothing. I don't want winter, that sucks too. I want autumn. I like spring and autumn, I hate extremes. I already have a new cable knit jumper and wool dress hanging in my wardrobe crying out to be worn. I'm also thinking about getting this anorak...
it's a bit primary school excursion day, but in a really good way.

things that will never really work out in real life vol. 1
This hat. Yeah it's cool and the 12-year-old model looks like she's having a good time wearing it in the ASOS studio and yes I really want it. But here's the question, when and where? Really?

more new things!
I got mail, and in that mail I got rings. I've always wanted heaps and heaps of rings. And eventually, I did get heaps and heaps of rings. But then I wore them all at the same time and just felt like a cheap Abbey Lee knock off, which was annoying and not me. So I began to search for cool small rings. And now (including one not pictured) I have three - perfect.
My new ring collection also has a cool animal theme which is kind of neat. It's taking me a little bit of time to get use to the whole pinky ring business...I feel like a mafioso (who likes dolphins) which is very awesome.
Here are actual pictures of the rings instead of a vain photobooth one.
DOLPHIN! There is something very nostalgic and 90s about dolphins that I can't quite let go of. Still hunting for these.
Zoe & Morgan snake eternity ring, which you've seen before.

Do or don't?
This is so cute! I want to buy it. I mean it's not crazy or anything, we're definitely still in summer here. I think i deserve a new bikini too. Since last summer my proportions have gone nuts and I've spent this summer lazing about in half a very fabulous Petit Bateau and half a not so fabulous Glasson bikini...
But that being said, how do I size this so it fits!? So I don't have saggy/hungry bum at the beach while still modestly concealing my boobs/making them look perky enough. Also, this almost purchase goes completely against my 'stop buying stuff online' mantra which I adopted late last week when I received a 'your order has been dispatched and is on it's way to you' email and had to actually stop and think for a few seconds. True story.
Ok. I won't buy it...just yet...

Sometimes the internet is more foe than friend...
It's no secret that I have a huge online shopping problem. It kind of turned into a way of life for a while; if I couldn't get it online I didn't want it. Yeah, hermit much? Anyway around about last week it slowly began to dawn on my that I had almost come to the end of my online shopping tether (the sites I can afford anyway). Yeah, imagine that! Shopped out the internet...So I picked myself up out from under my duvet, put presentable clothes on and went out into the big bad world. I bought stuff in real life again! It was ok. The one thing I did notice was that when enough was enough it was very obvious from the huge amount of shopping bags you are lugging around, no hiding that shit immeditely in the closet, people on the street have seen you!!! It also puts things into perspective and stupid decision making is put on the back burner...for example I put down some floral print velvet pants for some basic, but amazing, leather sandals. Online this would have been the other way round and I would have recieved my furry floral pants in the mail two weeks later and had a cry.
This all said and done, I still really want something (or two) that just look super amazing on my laptop screen - so obviously on me, duh...
Oh hi Topshop, thanks for always producing shoes that are incredibly irrelevant to my life.
Zoe & Morgan gold Eternity Snake ring. Usually snakes creep me the fuck out and the snake eternity symbol/eating itself was not exception...except when it's in gold and resonalby priced. Gonna do this next pay day...
Moral of this story is...Sarah is incredibly feckle.

Someone with normal sized feet...
please click here and buy these. Curse my 5/ 5.5 feet! CURSE YOU BOTH! Yes I can just go out and buy these, but it will take ages for them to get scuffed up and stuff. I had a pair of these in black when I was about 11 or 12 and wore them to school instead of the oh-so-popular Rugged Sharks. But tan/brown??? Are these even available now? I really hope so! I hope I don't end up looking like a 12-year-old tomboy...but with the way things are going with Elle Fanning (see slightly weird obsession post below) that might not be such a bad thing...

breaking news!
But not really. I kid. Seeing as today was only the 3rd actual sunny day of my summer break I've had a lot of free time and not a lot of laying about in the sun this combined with my lack of any plans I've had to force myself to find indoor activities to keep my daily catnap count down to 1 a day. I've been doing a bit of online shopping...
Actually got something I've been lusting after for ages. The 130 pounds price tag kept my credit card at bay - but 60 pounds? Thanks Topshop sale/that small ounce of willpower I found somewhere.
I also want to do this. I think it's raining (again) tomorrow, indoor project? Yes.
I've also been going a bit nuts with the photos on my tumblr. I even bought a chocolate mold and a whisk while my sister dealt with her wedding registry a few (rainy) days ago. Yes this bit might be a bit too ambitious for me, but I'll give it ago...maybe...only if it's really, really rainy...because I really just want to be doing this
all day and everyday! Or even going to see that film again, and again, and again would satisfy me on a hot, sticky, rainy summer day I see in the near future. Oh summer, why must you be so sporadic? WHY?

FIVE THINGS I MIGHT BUY THIS WEEK
Kurt Geiger, 79 pounds.
Kurt Geiger, 49 pounds.
Silence and Noise maxi, Urban Outfitters ,25 pounds.
Metallica tshirt, 15 pounds.
Topshop, 38 Pounds.
Before I feel guilty, ALL of these things are on sale. Every single one of them. Bringing my total to 206 pounds. About $420 NZD?? Not bad not bad. I whittled it down A LOT to get to this point so maybe I will do it. Or maybe I should save the money for a trip away or a bond for a new house.
To shop or not to shop??
P.s If I had to whittle more, I would first get rid of the Topshop top. Then maybe the maxi skirt, coz I already have two black ones (but not as good as that one!). Is this wise, Sarah??

baaack!
Hi all. Here I am, back from all the big sister wedding stuff. I will try and pace my blogs so the two people who actually still read this won't get too overwhelmed...
So first thing I'd like to touch on is my love-hate relationship with faux things. Not faux fur, but knock offs. Not direct imitations like ye ole faithful LV bags but the kind of items you look at and go "Hey are those...?" and reply "Yeah...na..." Like my Fauxpening Ceremony shoes for example. I mean how can you not LOVE the fact that you can actually afford the shoes (very similar) that you've been yearning for??? But at the same time, you kind of hate yourself for actually having gone into Wild Pair or the shame of somehow deceiving the real thing. I think with me at the end of the day my love for material things and lack of money for $1,000 pairs of shoes wins. One day I will be rolling in the cash, or at least have the will power to save up for a few months, and be able to buy the real thing and then I will bask in the glory of craftsmanship and how long quality stuff lasts. One day. But for now...
My ASOS parcel arrived and I couldn't be any more happy...and hooked. Who ever came up with free international shipping for a limited time was a psychological mastermind.

Welcome to my life, ASOS
I'm just about to dive into my very first ASOS shopping experience. This will end badly, I can see it now - and by end I mean when I am 75 and have only clothes to live off. Anyway...ASOS has always frightened me a little, it's just so bloody massive! It's one of the most overwhelming shopping experiences I've every had - and that's a lot coming from me - the girl who can shop for 9 hours straight while jet-lagged and end the day happily and calmly at Topshop Oxford Circus on Boxing Day...yeah, that's right - easy breezy. But yet ASOS has always towered over me as one big fat scary shopping destination. However last night I was informed that it's offering FREE SHIPPING!!! So at 9am this morning, slightly-hung over, I loaded up my ASOS cart so quickly I blinked and missed it! But before I click checkout I have two very expensive problems to over come. Which dress to I give the cut to?
I'm thinking the pom pom one. I'm liking the novelty of mini pom poms all over my dress.

Yeah, so...
So Kate Moss' final Topshop mainline collection went on sale a few hours ago. I actually caught it just as it went live. That stuff never happens to me - but I refrained from clicking buy on my little online cart. To be honest, I've never really understood the Kate Moss Topshop stuff. A handful of pieces here and there I like yes but the collections always seem very...bitty or something. I can't quite put my finger on it. Anyway, as this is her final mainline collection does this mean Topshop will still be sewing her name onto basic tees and calling them 'limited edition'? I hope so. Kate Moss, whatever she's done or however annoying she is becoming these days, is an icon (and super cute back in the day) and her Topshop co-lab is one of the best and seemingly 'meant to be' celebrity/chain store co-labs around yada, yada, yada. Here's some cool stuff you can buy (or not, it's prob all sold out knowing keen Topshoppers)

I have a letterbox
I also have a computer, a credit card and a pension for florals, aparently...MY STUFF ARRIVED! FINALLY! (let's not talk about how dramatic getting my Urban Outfitters package was. F.Y.I couriers, putting fifteen million 'card to call' stickers on the parcel with not one of these cards in the letterbox does NOT mean you're doing your job. Idiot.) Anyway...
I got shoes!
I got floral themed stuff
A reeeeeeeeeally long dress - longer than me almost. What was I thinking? (CHEAP! is probally what) But seriously, because this blog is all about the serious stuff in life, I never thought I'd buy a looooong dress/skirt. I'm short. You all know that. Things that look good on me are short things, and long things too aparently. Now I can be Nicki Grant! Now I can totally M.K it up! AWESOME! (I'm most excited about this dress, can you tell?)
But if that doesn't work out I can always wear it as a scarf
Now I just need to finalise my Topshop cart and I'll be all ready for summer. And also very unprepared for anything that requires money...Pretend online shopping is amazing. Actually receiving that stuff in the mail is even better! Do it on a bulk budget. It will a) make the shipping worth it b) make you feel good about scoring a sweet bargain ($22 boots? Say yes!) and finally c) make your parcel grow to an amazing and exciting size!

Imaginary Shopping Cart
I WANT THESE SO BAD ITS NOT FUNNY. 645 pounds. I could actually buy these. But I would have no money, not even a cent. And I'm unemployed.
This here Alice + Olivia leather skirt. Just a casual 350 pounds. And maybe pop those heels into my wardrobe as well?? Thanks.
(At the end of putting these pictures in, I realised everything I want is leather... huh.. fancy that. )

Birthday presents for yourself are always the best.
So what do you do when you get the incredibly expensive 'was it really that much?' bond back from your inner city carpark? Well firstly you put a bit into savings. Then you convert your Urban Outfitters cart into NZ$, get all shocked at how useless the US dollar is at the moment and hit CHECKOUT! So I put a hold on the so called perfect varsity jacket. I had a think, tallied all your votes and decided that if I still reeeeally want it by the time we are going back into winter and it's going on sale, then I'll get it. That's what I really enjoy about being this side of the hemisphere, the season we're going into international online sales! Besides I just got an amazing coat (I'll blog it later, I'm trying to build suspense. Is it working?) ANYWAY I scored this puppy for a wee little bargain!
Ended up getting a rather exciting parcel of stuff together for $150 NZ dollars! Yeah, that's right! Hurah for Sarah being a savvy and somewhat self controlled online shopper (for once). Let's just hope that my credit card company don't have a complete meltdown again and realise that Urban Outfitters is in fact a legit store and not some scam. Shit Visa, get it together!

Would this be something I'd be interested in?
When I first saw it, YES! Yes it was. I popped it straight into my Urban Outfitters cart and hurried onto the check out. Long story short, I messed up filling in some details properly so my credit card company went a bit ballistic and at the end of the day, my order got cancelled. I have refilled my cart ready to go again, but I have sudden pangs of 'maybe no' about this jacket.
I've always wanted a varsity jacket. All the ones I've ever come across have been made for large boys and make me look like a hunchback or something like that. OR they have some kind of obnoxious lettering on it, or something - there was always something. This puppy seems perfect. Right? Maybe because I recently bought my first actual coat in years (it's amazing! stay tuned for its very own post) that is bringing on some of this apprehension...
Ok, so voting time. VOTE Y'ALL! THANKS!

So if you don't know by now
Urban Outfitters ships here now! HURAH! HURAH! HURAH! You have no idea how excited I am about this! VERY. Probably more excited than I was when Topshop opened it's shipping doors here last year - yeah, that's right! THAT EXCITED. For those who haven't had an Urban Outfitters experience let me just say that it is AWESOME! Anyway, I am so predictable that I had already started a 'shopping cart' on their website before I had even heard the news. Since hearing the news, a lot of my items have been moved to my wishlist to make my cart realistically affordable - perfect varsity jacket and a near perfect summer tee come to me (once I have mulled over a footwear option for one more night or so). But one whislist item I am very, very tempted to add back into my shopping cart is this little fellow.
Deena & Ozzy black pony hair front flap messenger bag. Awesome, awesome, awesome. But sigh I have put my sensible hat on and realised that my Porenza Schouler PS1 look-alike from Country Road still has a lot of life left in it. Does this mean that I can add another (or two) more items back into my cart? I think it might... Anyway, go start a shopping cart. Faux-online shopping is probably one of life's most simple joys.

I went 'shopping' on net-a-porter...
...and I bought some coats. Now I can be all warm and sung in my imgination. Great.
We all know how much I love anoraks. This one is navy! And has lots of pockets! And with a hood! Fantastic!
This little number is a definite add to the 'I'm on the hunt for' list. Paddington Bear-chic. Is there really anything more I need to say to convince you? Not really!
Can I do a cape? Usually I'd be a 'no capes!' (Edna Mold reference, yes I am awesome) kind of girl. But this one is pretty awesome!
