It was bound to happen this way...

...and you've probably already read all about it. Dior is done with their main man John G. Hmmm...aside from the crippling substance abuse problems and anti-Semitic fiasco, I still can't really say I'm flabbergasted by this decision. Fall 2011 RTW was weird, mis-matchy and Eastern European to say the least. And while the Haute Couture has never failed to ooh and ahh...it got a bit samesy. Please don't think I'm saying that I'm better than John Galliano or that I think his designs are terrible...they are AMAZING! All I'm saying is that this was more of a 'Yeah, ok' moment than a 'OMFG REALLY?!' one...ya know? Makes you wonder also, as it's not really rocket science that Galliano needed to get some rehab for quite sometime before he apparently became a racist, how long has Dior been waiting for the perfect rip cord to come along? Anti-Semitic remarks in Europe ought to do it...

Ahoy Sailor

Most people that know me know that I have a bit of a 'thing' for two particular styles - western and sailor. Sailor can be tricky, sometimes costumey or tarty, but this particular outfit from Dior had my heart beating a little faster.
Just the right balance of nautical and pattern to balance it out. The rest of the RTW collection I was slightly less enthused about - a bit too frou frou or something, can't quite out my finger on it.

Dior ist miene one true love.

I know I'm slow with this, but I have a job, ok!?
Anyway, first things first. The Dior Couture show.
I must say, I did enjoy it. Not as much as the Fall 09 Couture, but that was hard to live up to because it was THE BEST EVER. I still look at it and wish it was me. All of it.

Just to refresh everyone to the sheer greatness of the aforementioned collection, here are a few of my favourites. Even looking at it now, I find new things to love. Sigh.

Hello High School!

Erm...She's short! And it's a bow! As in there are massive gaping holes in it...see...? AND she's short! Her head barley clears the shoulders of the dudes next to her bitches. Imagine if that was a SOLID HEAD! God, is this fiasco about her 'massive annoying, view obstructing bow" for realz? Get over it, you're at DIOR! Poor you, in the second row behind a small child wearing a massive bow. Boo-fucking-hoo.

Tuesday night is awesome!

So as I lost the race to blog about Dior to Bif (okay a nap), I will just blog about how much I love tuesday night. AND that I, the less 'daring' and more 'boring' of the blog team says "hell yes" to this proposed Twin Peaks migration. Not only would these clothes look great there, but so too would my big brows and hair.

Oh, and btw, Bif you missed this one
