Westerns are totally awesome!!!

So let's discuss one of my favorite films of all time, The Good, The Bad and The Ugly. Is it just me or is this film timeless or what?! Am I right? I know I'm right. Sometimes when I sit down and watch old 'classic' films I enjoy them yes, but mostly based on their importance in the history of things. I can put the dated production and acting into context, but it still lingers in my mind throughout the whole film. Try watching Casablanca for example. Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed it, but I didn't necessarily ease through it. The Good, The Bad and The Ugly, on the other hand, draws me in so much every time that I don't even notice its 'date'. I like the intense acting and the generic Western traditions. Basically, in my eyes, it's freaking flawless! If anything it's one hell of a visual treat; the setting, the cinematography and the costume (oh the costume!) make an A+ combination. But, maybe I'm just partial to barren desert landscapes and a good Stetson.

Oh, and it does help that Clint Eastwood was a total dish. Swoon!

I'm not usually a fan of cats

except Bob Robson, of course. And this little fella.

I will NEVER get this excited over the scrunchie

This bitch is crazy! While I will admit to be a bit of a 90s revival enthusiast (I dig floral, plaid and Angela Chase) I do not, do not understand American Apparel's excitement over the scrunchie. Yes, I've had my fair share of scrunchies. My favorite was my silky pink/purple rainbow one I would wear to one side of my head (note: I had a bob at this stage. Yeah, use your imagination). I even had scrunchie envy over my sister's orange mesh one that contained multi-coloured styrofoam balls IN it! Yes, what fond memories those are. That is what I feel the scrunchie should stay , a memory. They shouldn't even be used to tie back your hair when you wash your face for god's sake! No, no, no!!!

Leatha

This isn't really anything you, the reader, can use constructively (or destructively) in your unfashionable life. I just love this more than Stella loves leatha, if that is even possible.

Is it too hard to pick a favourite? its like , at work , we play this game thing where its like you have to pick which one you like better. Bush or Clinton , Joy Division and Sonic Youth , The Beatles or the Stones. Try this game sometime people , its really very eye opening.

Blogging for blogging's sake

So June is considerably low in the blog numbers here, we know, we know! Perhaps it corresponds to our slow internet a.t.m. Or perhaps we are just lazy. You will never know the truth.

P.S. Lolita has a totally awesome name, winter appropriate bikini AND hat. What a cow.

Hair

Personal Space

People in line at supermarkets, post offices and banks take note. Please. Especially if you have an incredibly annoying and unnaturally loud voice. Please.

One last thing. Baby crocodile skinned shoes are not waterproof. Even though you'd think they would be, don't these little suckers swim when they are not shoes? But seriously, trust me, they're not.

P.S.

I LOVE terrible music! What are you going to do about it?! And I mean terrible music in a completely non-ironic way. I sincerely love Taylor Swift, Britney and that Tambourine song by Eve (among many others). People who don't listen to terrible music, and only ever listen to super hip shit and/or totally ironic retro stuff are missing out, and I don't understand it. 'Terrible music' is what I love to play in the car while stuck in a traffic jam or trying to figure out what to wear in the morning while having a pre-8am solo disco in my room. Why would anyone want to go through life without this? Jesus! Stop being so serious, turn on the top 40, pick a few numbers you like (you know they are in there), join this Facebook group and freaking declare your love to the world!

Dang It!

So Bif and I didn't win the lottery last night. Sigh, I guess y'all are just going to have to wait just that little bit longer to see a fully realised whale revolution. All in good time.
In other news: as many know, I have this 'job' where I interact with adults and such. The dress code is casual-cool...for adults. This makes me feel slightly weird and limited in my everyday dressing and I have pretty much settled to wearing the same black dress every day which in turn makes me feel like Wednesday Addams. However after googling little Wednesday it turns out that her outfit is slightly, okay very much, different from my dress. Oh well, I still feel her attitude.

Shiny but not cosy

Julia Restoin Roitfeld is my big hair, big eye-browed idol. She makes me feel good about mine. A peek into her abode via The Selby made me feel slightly like a green-eyed monster, mainly aimed towards the below shoes. However, it also made me rather happy with my little hidey hole. While I will admit is slightly on the colder side of the temperature scale, it actually looks like a room - not an art gallery.

So...

So, I'm working on creating a portfolio so that when I finish uni I can possibly try my hand at having a job in the area that I got a BIG FAT LOAN to pay for. Anyhoo, I'm not really sure how to go about all this... its like writing a c.v but giving the employer your soul. Or at least, your creative soul. When I finish the portfolio, I may post it. And I may expect feedback. ok? SAY YES OR I WILL PUNCH YOU IN THE EYE!
Putting a picture of guitar wolf only because i'm listening to them right now.

A few Things

One, I quite like walking about the city on sunny (yet very cold) winter mornings.
