Daktoa Fanning grew up and has awesome taste in bags

Hello Dakota, when did all of this happen? Best bag friends for life. Gimmie your hand me downs please - bags only though, although I'd probably be able to fit her clothes too.

Welcome to my life, ASOS

I'm just about to dive into my very first ASOS shopping experience. This will end badly, I can see it now - and by end I mean when I am 75 and have only clothes to live off. Anyway...ASOS has always frightened me a little, it's just so bloody massive! It's one of the most overwhelming shopping experiences I've every had - and that's a lot coming from me - the girl who can shop for 9 hours straight while jet-lagged and end the day happily and calmly at Topshop Oxford Circus on Boxing Day...yeah, that's right - easy breezy. But yet ASOS has always towered over me as one big fat scary shopping destination. However last night I was informed that it's offering FREE SHIPPING!!! So at 9am this morning, slightly-hung over, I loaded up my ASOS cart so quickly I blinked and missed it! But before I click checkout I have two very expensive problems to over come. Which dress to I give the cut to?

I'm thinking the pom pom one. I'm liking the novelty of mini pom poms all over my dress.

Boo Boo

Sometimes it's awesome being an independent lady (throw your hands up at me!). But sometimes it's not all that glamorous and amazers as Beyonce makes it all out to be. So here is the story (if you hate self-pitying rants stop reading now): I bought these shelves last weekend because while I am short my eye-line is actually higher than 2 inches off the ground. Anyway in a spur of enthusiasm I bought two sets of shelves. One made it up to my apartment (the other is still resting snugly in my car...) and it's just been chilling out all week seemingly going unnoticed to this guy I know. But tonight I had enough, they had to go up! Surely I've encountered worse self-assembly furniture nightmares before (god knows there's been a fair share) and I built it!

Ok so not only did I cut myself, stain the carpet with blood and took a very inappropriate near up-skirt photo of myself - the shelf is also totally bullshit! I followed the instructions to a tee and yet it wobbles like there is a strong gust of wind whirling around my room. I now see the flaw in the instructions (not my assembly skills) and could potentially take it apart and make it so much better, but I just don't have the will left in me to do that. This little project totally broke me tonight. I mean who the hell marks their product 'easy assembly!' and give instructions totally void of logic and what seems to be a complete lack of shelf structural knowledge as well as impossibly slippery and greased up bolts?! WHO??? (mutter, mutter, mutter)

Rihanna (and Sarah) gets all girly on your ass

I like this video, it made me like the song more. I will stand by that decision proudly. That's all really.

Isabel I Want

Hi, it's Sarah, remember me?

Just very quickly and to the point. I want these Isabel Marant Etoille pants. Like, so, SO much. They come in a less flamboyant and magical looking colour, but why would you want that - they are actually a lot darker and wearable in real life And are actually NOT flared as they weirdly seem in the photo. I have to see these guys every day and they won't stop hassling me.

Anyway boooooring, I have a shopping problem yada yada yada (but let's just be clear I'm not getting these, there is more that goes into it than just mon-aaaay) I'm going to blog more later in the week, about Kayne (oh yes) but right now my roast vegetables are close to crossing the line from roast to brunt.

If I could draw like this, I would be one happy camper. These are by Denise Nestor - some really awesome stuff coming up in an exhibition in Dublin called 'Brainbelt'. I think I have to get my pencils out and practice again coz at this point I'd be hard stretched to draw a 3-d cube.

Imaginary Shopping Cart Part II

Marc Jacobs shearling boots -

A couple things from Givenchy

Ann Demeulemeester cape

Balenciaga shoes

Sorry for all the rather unexciting blogging lately, I have a really really awful imaginary shopping addiction and I plan to quit very soon. Its hard to say no.
The offer of credit cards looms over my head with the allure of beautiful beautiful clothes - I know I should (and probably will say no) but the thought that these things COULD be mine!? siiiiggghhhhh. I'd have to quit eating and everyone knows that won't happen.

Next on the List

Theeeeeeesssseeee puppies have my name written all over them! At first I thought they were more Sarah than me (in a good way) but then I realized that perhaps my search for suitable work shoes that are cute and not converse or vans could be over with one simple purchase!

Buy online or face the chaos that is Oxford Circus topshop?? aarrrgggggghhhhhhhhhh

10 (more) things that remind me of Sarah - and mormons.

In the best way possible, of course. Fundamentalist Mormon style is something we aspire to from time to time (in all seriousness, Big Love is super inspirational).
But, sidenote; I, too would buy ALL of these things if I had the cash rolling around. Considering a couple come my next pay month!

All from Zara, by the way.

Christmas Present please

Not as shiny in real life, I'm sure, but also not a realistic request. If anyone has any lying around in a 38, send 'em my way.

I just bought this..

I have this thing about maxi skirts at the moment. I bought a plain high waisted black one from H&M and I bought this one a few days ago from Topshop and its going swimmingly for me so far - channeling a bit of Morticia Adams and Lydia from Beetlejuice. Whenever I walk at a brisk pace it flies out behind me, but I also run the very real risk of getting stuck in escalators and standing on the front of my skirt when walking up stairs.

I get the feeling I may be heading toward Morticia + Lydia meets the Dries Van Noten look below.

P.s It did happen, my skirt got stuck in the escalator and I got really scared and spoke at a loud volume to my lovely boyfriend and I got really scared that I was going to get sucked into the machine and become mincemeat. So don't be thinkin' I'm exaggerating.

And this reminds me of Sarah too...

Lil' Orbits Donuts would be absolutely awesome right now! So delicious - look how they travel down the river of fat to reach the final destination of sugar and cinammon and MY MOUTH.

This reminds me of Sarah

Quality vs. Quantity.

I used to be one of those girls who would rather buy five cheapish things than one amazing expensive thing, but the last few years I have realised the power of investment.

Much like investing in something that is good quality, I have also realised that there a lot of average blogs out there. Call me crazy, but if I'm looking at blogs, I want to look at something inspiring or critical or something that will make me think, not just pretty pictures or mindless words. IT'S OK TO HAVE AN OPINION and you don't HAVE to like every single thing in the world.

Sorry for the rant but I have been cruising some blogs on my day off and I realised why I don't blog frequently - because I don't wana fill up the blog with hunks of junk, I'd rather wait until I have something of substance to say.

Angela - style icon

Isn't it weird when sometimes you notice your style changing? For example.......... I am NOT the most feminine creature. I tend to go for black/ leather/ tough looking stuff. But recently, I bought this :

At first I felt like a 90's kindergarten teacher. And then I felt like Angela from 'My So-Called Life'. And I was cool with that. Its the kinda dress my mum would like to see me wear.

HELLO AGAIN!

Back after "extended leave" (a.k.a all I do is work and travel to get to work so not much exciting happens in my life) HERE I AM!
With, surprisingly, not toooo much to report.I have a job here in London now, which is progress. Still homeless, but working on that.
Just a couple of things I wanted to point out -
1) WHAT THE HECK KIND OF JOKE IS THIS?

One of the best things in the world (fringing- tassels if you are Nat) is horrifically abused by the plague that is tie dye and simultaneously is a jumpsuit. WHYYYYYYYYY whhhyyyyyy do we do these things? But, just quietly, its almost so ugly I want to buy it. I am considering it as one of those things that you will never wear seriously but one day it might come in handy.

2) Heidi and Spencer pretty much admitted that they are money grubbing famewhores who spent all their money on a baller lifestyle and now are broke as shit and I feel a weird sense of justification.

3) I miss Sarah!!!!!! This is our longest separation in quite some time. Sad Face.

Another one bites the dust.

Ok so I'm about the 15th million person to blog about this today. SORRY I WAS AT WORK! I CAN'T BLOG AT WORK, EVERYONE CAN SEE MY COMPUTER SCREEN! Anyway, that yelling aside I'm not going to say much about the Lanvin & H&M co-lab except that I was quite dissapointed. Bright cocktail dresses, we've seen before yes? It was very Lanvin, and I know that's the point, but it was very Lanvin a few years ago...did Lanvin collaborate with H&M a few seasons ago and they forgot to release it? That's my opinion anyway. I'll stop. I'm always so negative. I just feel so weird gushing about things. Working on that...

This video is pretty cool though. Loves the two French maids. Are they selling those outfits too? P.s. Alber, what a cutie.

Yeah, so...

So Kate Moss' final Topshop mainline collection went on sale a few hours ago. I actually caught it just as it went live. That stuff never happens to me - but I refrained from clicking buy on my little online cart. To be honest, I've never really understood the Kate Moss Topshop stuff. A handful of pieces here and there I like yes but the collections always seem very...bitty or something. I can't quite put my finger on it. Anyway, as this is her final mainline collection does this mean Topshop will still be sewing her name onto basic tees and calling them 'limited edition'? I hope so. Kate Moss, whatever she's done or however annoying she is becoming these days, is an icon (and super cute back in the day) and her Topshop co-lab is one of the best and seemingly 'meant to be' celebrity/chain store co-labs around yada, yada, yada. Here's some cool stuff you can buy (or not, it's prob all sold out knowing keen Topshoppers)
