I'm Cold

Hi, welcome to the billionth post from someone in Auckland complaining about the cold. Yes what a weedy wimp I am, it's only Auckland, blah, blah, blah. I don't care! IT'S STILL COLD! This is one fantastic outfit young Kate is sporting. SOCKS WITH SANDALS! Oh fantastic. But seriously, I'd wear this. It looks very warmtastic!

Valentinooooo

I'm liking the new Valentino. Short skirts, baby doll and drop-waist dresses are pretty much my best friend. The 2010 Valentino couture collection is pretty sweet. Sweet as in sugary. But minimalistic and mono-chromatic sugary, perfect for me. And bows galore. But I won't really wear all that much from this collection if I had the opportunity, still too sugary for me. But these are my two favourite dresses, yes pretty much the same in different colours, I can't choose. I'd wear these.



Oh and before I leave you, let's look at THIS dress!

In The Mood For Love

Watch this film! Just do it ok. If you like it, also watch 2046. I first saw these a couple of years ago and loved them. Set in Hong Kong in the 60s. Beautiful cinematography. And the cheongsams, oh the cheongsams...









Yes a lot of pictures, what are you gonna do? My sister got a cheongsam made when she was 18. She's never worn it since, but it was a qusai coming-of-age moment and I remember being very jealous and couldn't wait until my cheongsam day arrived. It never did. What's up with that? I'm thinking about hitting mum about this. But before I do, am I even Chinese looking enough to get one? Sadly I don't think I am. Maybe in say that stripy pattern? Or the blue with the rose print??? Getting one in a less 'oriental' fabric might actually take away some of the cringe factor of a white girl in a cheongsam. Sigh, I don't actually think I can pull it off. Heres the thing

Recently, folks, I have realised that good people and good friends are hard to find. Some people are fun and cool and good to hang out with, but most of the time they are not the people that are there when the shit hits the fan. And sometimes the most unexpected people can be there for you when everything goes wrong.
But to the point of my blog - I'M MOVING IN THIRTY FIVE DAYS. HALFWAY ACROSS THE WORLD. And what if I don't make friends?? ahhhh. And will I get replaced as Unfashionable Guide Blogger? O M G - I COULD NOT LIVE LIKE THAT.
In the mean time, how does one balance living it up for their final days in town and attempting to save money so they are not living in poverty in their new digs?

Was one hell of a dapper dude. Hello swoon city! But ALSO, his books are pretty good reads and rather easy ones too. What a fantastic combination! I always feel like such a wanky-angsty-literary-emo when I say I like him. But it's true - the fact that I like him that is. I'm a little angsty, but no emo - I don't wear enough eyeliner for that. Reading Nine Stories at the moment, and it's reminded me what a great writer he was. That's all.
