Just when they thought I was out, they pull me back in

So TV these days is pretty dismal. And so is the weather. So what are you gonna do when you're stuck inside and all you have to watch is either Glee or the 'Glee-peat' on the other channel? RENT A BOX SET YOU FOOL! My personal recommendations are Big Love, The O.C, Twin Peaks, My So Called Life and The Sopranos. RENT THE SOPRANOS. This is one of my favorite shows ever. EVER. How very awesome is Tony? A mobster boss who has a soft spot for the History Channel and ducks? Hello a place in my heart forever! But who wins my award for best character? Silvio Dante. Silvio has the best style. The best hair. The best legitimate business. The best mobster's wife. And the best Al Pacino impression.

The Sopranos doesn't really have that 'it' factor Twin Peaks has. And it doesn't have the cult following like My So Called Life. Or the 'ironic' factor The O.C has (but truth be told, I love the O.C in the most sincere way.) It was just a really, really good show. Hands down. Full stop. Don't try to argue. Oh and opening credits that makes the wimpiest, most un-confrontational girl feel like a career in the New Jersey mafia is the life she's been searching for? Hello awesome! Do it.

Over and out (for real this time) S

So if you don't know by now

Urban Outfitters ships here now! HURAH! HURAH! HURAH! You have no idea how excited I am about this! VERY. Probably more excited than I was when Topshop opened it's shipping doors here last year - yeah, that's right! THAT EXCITED. For those who haven't had an Urban Outfitters experience let me just say that it is AWESOME! Anyway, I am so predictable that I had already started a 'shopping cart' on their website before I had even heard the news. Since hearing the news, a lot of my items have been moved to my wishlist to make my cart realistically affordable - perfect varsity jacket and a near perfect summer tee come to me (once I have mulled over a footwear option for one more night or so). But one whislist item I am very, very tempted to add back into my shopping cart is this little fellow.

Deena & Ozzy black pony hair front flap messenger bag. Awesome, awesome, awesome. But sigh I have put my sensible hat on and realised that my Porenza Schouler PS1 look-alike from Country Road still has a lot of life left in it. Does this mean that I can add another (or two) more items back into my cart? I think it might... Anyway, go start a shopping cart. Faux-online shopping is probably one of life's most simple joys.

Over and out, S

Show me your TEETH

So just the other day I was talking to someone about how when I was a kid and lost my front tooth a fang grew in place of an actual tooth. Yes a fang (for actual term ask Anna Theobald). Because I am a human and not a shark or a vampire I had it taken out. I got to keep it in a little clear box, I was so proud! Anyway back to my point - the other day the person suggested to me that I should put it on a necklace. I've been told this before about my fang. I like the idea, but I don't think I could actually go through with it. But look at these!

Van der Glas teeth rings, knuckle dusters, earrings and necklaces. But these are strangers' teeth, not yours! Ahhhh too weird for Sarah! Too weird. She also does hair bags, as in long human hair bags. And what is this never ending 'arty farty' facination with human hair? It's like "Hi, I'm an 'artist' and I'm all kooky and crazy and no one gets me so I'll make some art with human hair!" or something. I'm not hating on this stuff here, the teeth rings are cool but human hair really freaks me out. I don't even think I'd wear a real hair weave, even though they are far superior to synthetic hair. It's creeeeeepy. And so is having a strangers tooth on your ring. But then I have no problem with fur, leather, taxidermy etc. Oh what a hypocrite. Yes alright.

DEATH OF A FAITHFUL BAG

Well. Today is the day I put my Widdess Owl Bag to rest. After many, many faithful services ( I think about 2 years?) the strap has fallen off and there are holes in it. The end of an owl era. Sad face.

On the upside, this is my other bag which I have been meaning to show and tell for a while. If you can't tell, its TEXTURED! With fringing! Two of my favourite things ever. People always tell me its ugly, but to me its so ugly its cute. Like Yoda.

Bob

It seems a long time since Sarah and I were fiending over Twin Peaks and other assorted box sets of dvds. Leland Palmer was a favourite character of ours, particularly Sarah. Sigh. What shall I do without her!?

Christopher Kane Resort

To infinity and beyond! Awesome space prints from Christopher Kane resort. Cool cuts too, even without the spacey prints. And fluffy boudoir shoes? Hmmmm, ok then. They are like those fluffy pens that were all the rage way back when. Remember? But yeah, space prints! Totally awesome. Anyway, rave, rave, rave! Rave as in praise, not a party with glow sticks. Though these would be kind of perfect for that kind of rave too!

Splish Splash

I kind of want these. I've seen the purply ones on someone and they actually did look pretty funny. You know, they are kind of long and pointy at the front, in a bad way. But I still want them. Maybe my size 5 feet will work in my favor here, for once in my life. Great for rainy days. Great for walking in muddy fields (which I actually do, I'm not just being funny). Great for shiny looking feet!

Karen Elson can sing, apparently

Karen Elson sings now? Ok, sure. I guess she might as well. I've always been slightly scared of Jack White. He's just too controlling, in a good way though, cos look what he's done and not just with wifey. But the black white and red, marrying Miss pale skin and fiery hair here, naming their daughter Scarlett...Ahhhh, it just weirds me out a wee bit. But anyway, in general he's pretty alright. Back to Karen Elson's singing...I'm undecided. Sometimes it makes it smile, and other times it makes me cringe. Lets I'm 70% excited about this. I'm 100% excited about her dress though. Awesome, awesome, awesome. Would be great if my growth spurt kicked in right about....now! No? Nothing? Sigh.

To Make-up Wearers Everywhere

Please please please - Learn to blend foundation properly. It can be hard, I understand, if you are in a rush or maybe you are only 14 and are new to it all. But as any good Cosmetics Assistant will tell you, the key is to BLEND. No one wants to be that girl with the foundation line on her jaw/forehead. Pretty girls can be so much prettier with a bit of subtle enhancement.

Why?

Why would anyone do this? Is she joking? I hope she is joking. Look, I'm all for individual style, thinking outside the box, not caring if other's will get your outfit or not. So I guess this is what she's doing, not caring what people think or if people understand the outfit. I don't understand it. IT DOESN'T FIT YOU! YOU DON'T HAVE A PENIS! IT JUST LOOKS WEIRD! SCRUNCHIE! Here's my point, I think despite whatever 'look' you are going after, please make sure it a) fits and b) flatters. FIT AND FLATTER! Remember those words??? I don't care how hot the trend is, or how ironic the statement you are trying to make is! If it doesn't fit, it will look funny. If it doesn't flatter, YOU will look funny. The end ok. Alright sure, maybe your 'look' and point IS to be unfitting and unflattering and if that is the case, then I'm very sorry, I highly doubt we can be friends - unless you love Dolly Parton, then maybe we can work something out. I'm sorry girl in the photo. I really am. Thumbs up for being individual though...I guess...
